Book review

Unfortunately, we did not come true and hope that the huge loss of Tatars in the Battle of Kulikovo (then thought that the enemy were killed there twice as much as Russian) Russia allow at least a few years to live quietly. True, in the Horde in that time began strife, and it split into two parts. But Khan Tokhtamysh soon broke Mamaia and gathered a strong army, marched on Moscow. His allies staliryazansky, Nizhny Novgorod and Suzdal princes, and a number of princes from the border areas. Dmitry promised aid Rostov, Yaroslavl princes and Belozertsev. In mid-August 1382 the Moscow prince made his army to Kostroma, where they plan to collect all the units. But the Tartars were at the walls of Moscow much earlier than expected, Dmitry. After three days of unsuccessful attack Tokhtamysh sent an embassy to the wall of the Nizhny Novgorod and Suzdal princes, and treacherous deceit persuaded Muscovites to open the gate. The city was mercilessly looted and burned. Tatars defeated neighbors and other cities - Mozhaysk, Borovsk, Zvenigorod, Vladimir, Kolomna ... Then they went unpunished, and between the Russian princes continued internecine strife.
